IT之家 10/5 news: Foreign media Axios reported local time on the 4th that Reflection andseveral other Western companies will launch open-weight AI models this month, and competition in the AI model field will further escalate.
One major benefit of open-weight models is that they support on-premises deployment by customers, which is a key advantage for certain industries with strict requirements for fine-tuning and inference data security.
According to the report, the model Reflection, this startup, is about to launch is expected to initially lag behind the most advanced closed-source models of its US competitors, butbe competitive enough with the top open-weight models from Chinese rivals. A Reflection spokesperson declined to comment.
To prepare for this model release, Reflection has recently been in ongoing contact with relevant figures in Washington and elsewhere. The company is also actively securing the computing power needed to expand its service capabilities.
