Microsoft showcased the Surface Laptop Ultra in June 2026, with its biggest highlight being support for locally running 120 billion-parameter models. It is mainly aimed at artificial intelligence (AI) developers and content creators, with use cases including on-device AI, agentic workflows, and creation in Premiere Pro and Blender.

The 18-core version comes with 5120 graphics processor (GPU) cores and unified memory of 24GB or 32GB, while the 20-core version comes with 6144 GPU cores and memory options of 32GB, 48GB, 64GB, or 128GB.
On the system side, Windows will also add a unified memory control feature, allowing users to adjust the amount of memory allocated to the GPU on the RTX Spark graphics card. This helps enable more advanced local AI workflows and boost gaming performance when needed.
