On October 7, 2026, Douyin Life Services officially released its “2026 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Consumption Report,” announcing that AI interactive entry points have for the first time been deeply integrated into holiday consumption scenarios, becoming a new growth engine driving travel and local life services.
The report shows that during the “double holiday,” online content continuously stimulated enthusiasm for offline consumption, driving in-depth experiential consumption to become mainstream, with overall Douyin group-buying order volume growing 53% year over year. Among this, dining orders increased by more than 61% year over year, travel and lodging orders grew 42%, and hotel and guesthouse orders rose by nearly 79% year over year.
As a core highlight of this holiday, new scenarios and new entry points had a significant effect on driving consumption. Data shows that the average daily transaction growth of scenic-spot group buying on the “Doushengsheng App” reached 142%; meanwhile, AI interactive products represented by “Doubao books hotels” achieved rapid penetration, with order volume growing more than 56% month over month, and Chengdu, Beijing, and Xi'an becoming the cities with the highest order volumes. In addition, the “66 Travel Card,” covering 10 cities including Chongqing, Chengdu, and Hangzhou, also became a major driver, boosting hotel check-ins using the card during the National Day holiday by more than 84% month over month.
This data indicates that users' consumption demands are accelerating a shift from “content viewing” toward “in-depth participation.” Intelligent entry points centered on generative AI have not only optimized users' decision-making and ordering paths, but also opened up a complete commercial loop from traffic reach to service fulfillment, marking that the application of AI technology in local life and travel scenarios has completed the leap from functional experimentation to large-scale transactions.
