IT Home On October 8, a tech media outlet Windows Latest published a post today (October 8) stating that during a launch event in San Francisco, USA, on Pacific Time on October 7 at 10 a.m. (Beijing Time on October 8 at 1 a.m.), Microsoft confirmed that Copilot+ PC (referred to as Windows 11 AI+ PC in China) is still in existence, with annual shipments “ reaching tens of millions of units.”

In this event, Pavan Davuluri, head of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices business, confirmed that Microsoft has not given up the Copilot+ PC brand. He said that currently, over 40% of commercial laptops are Copilot+ PCs.
Davuluri said that these devices have a shipment volume of tens of millions per year, with over 2 trillion local inferences per month, covering scenarios such as search, image processing, and video calls.
In terms of functionality, Davuluri said that through hybrid intelligence, the capabilities of Copilot+ PC will be further enhanced, providing the following 3 key local features:
Local context enables Copilot to understand files on the PC and recent activities.
Local actions allow Copilot to move files or change settings on behalf of the user.
Local models allow Copilot to access AI models running on the PC.
