Nano Banana 2.1 is slower than earlier Nano Banana models, but no faster model scores higher in quality
In our independent generation speed benchmark, Nano Banana 2.1 takes about 16 seconds per 1K image, against 8.3 seconds for Nano Banana 2 and 3.1 seconds for Nano Banana 2 Lite. It is the fastest model in the AA-Image-T2I v2.0 top 6, and every model ranked above it takes at least 3.3x as long.
