Google Cloud officially announced at the recent “Gemini at Work2026” conference that it has launched a new Gemini Agent for global enterprise customers. The product is precisely positioned as a “general-purpose work agent,” aiming to completely transform corporate daily collaboration and productivity models through a one-stop interface.
In terms of core functionality, this new Gemini AI agent breaks the limitation of traditional AI tools that can only perform simple Q&A tasks. Users simply enter their overall work goals on a single interface, and it can autonomously handle various complex tasks including Q&A, knowledge accumulation, content creation, code writing, and execution. At the same time, it can deeply call various tools and data within the enterprise, achieving full-process automation from goal planning, tool invocation to system integration, and ultimately delivering the finished product directly into Gmail, Docs, or various development tools.
In addition to its powerful general execution capabilities, the Gemini agent released this time also demonstrates great sincerity in terms of ecosystem compatibility and industry-specific applications:
Ecosystem integration: This product not only fully supports Gemini Enterprise, Workspace, and various third-party services, but also implements a dynamic model selection mechanism for the first time. Business users can not only call on Google’s own models, but also flexibly switch between different models (such as Claude from Anthropic).
Industry specialization evolution: Google Cloud Sync has introduced new skills for data analysis, data engineering, and machine learning, and for the first time, a deeply customized version is available for the financial services and legal industries.
Enterprise-level security controls: To meet the stringent requirements for compliance and risk control in enterprise deployments, this AI agent is equipped with a complete set of control functions including comprehensive permission management, audit logs, security sandboxes, and real-time spending limits.
