Judge orders OpenAI to hand over recruitment records and interview materials within a deadline in Apple trade secrets case

A US court has recently ruled that, in the trade secrets lawsuit brought by Apple against OpenAI, OpenAI must hand over the relevant recruitment records and interview materials within a deadline.

According to the court's directive, OpenAI must submit the relevant materials it has already collected within five days, and supplement the remaining requested documents within fourteen days. The scope of discovery in this case covers OpenAI's interview documents concerning former Apple employees from the consumer hardware and robotics divisions, including interview lists, explanations, technical presentation decks and LINE instant messaging records, and the court also approved discovery against OpenAI employees Liu Chang, Peng Ailisha and chief hardware officer Tang Yaotan.

Apple previously accused former employees of allegedly using company laptops to download confidential materials containing unreleased technical specifications and proprietary project data.
