On October 14, Tencent WorkBuddy announced a deep integration with Enterprise WeChat. The WorkBuddy client can now call ten major features such as messages, documents, meetings, and micro-disk storage within the scope of enterprise authorization, and it can appear in the Enterprise WeChat contact list as a chatbot, allowing users to issue commands directly during chat.
This feature is available to certified enterprises. You need to upgrade WorkBuddy to version 5.8.0 or higher, and Enterprise WeChat to version 5.0.12 or higher. The administrators can obtain it uniformly through the backend.
In terms of specific capabilities, WorkBuddy can categorize WeCom unread messages and emails into three categories: “to process,” “worthy of attention,” and “others,” and extract summaries and action items. Users can select work messages in the WeCom group and merge them for forwarding to WorkBuddy. The system automatically identifies online documents, microdisk files, schedules, tasks, meetings, and smart notes referenced in these messages. The input field also allows direct reference to microdisk files from WeCom, or commands to have Buddies send messages or share content to individual or group chats, with the user needing to confirm before sending.
The WorkBuddy robot and client robot in WeCom have dual-side synchronization between both ends, allowing continuous continuation of existing conversations when switched. Timed tasks and message push switches enable tasks to be executed on schedule and results to be automatically pushed back, and@s can be directly used in database documents to invite WeCom members for collaboration.
From the enterprise side, account allocation, permission settings, and usage can be managed uniformly in the backend. Operations such as employee meeting content, email search, and reading require the employee’s authorization; WorkBuddy only operates within the authorized scope. Currently, WeCom has covered over 14 million real enterprises and organizations, serving 750 million WeChat users.
This update connects Tencent’s connectivity capabilities with WorkBuddy’s task execution capabilities. Enterprises do not need to switch platforms or migrate data, and AI agents begin to be embedded into existing office workflows.
