ITHome News on October 21: The China Telecom Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (TeleAI) officially announced on October 20 that the embodied intelligence company "Gamma Robtics" was recently registered and established in Xuhui District, Shanghai.
The company is The first commercialized innovation venture incubated by TeleAI, focusing on full-model innovation and applications of self-evolving humanoid robots, and will jointly establish a humanoid robot laboratory with TeleAI, working together to translate research achievements into products and services for real industrial scenarios.
Gamma Intelligence was strategically invested in byChina Telecom (Shanghai) AI Industry Private Equity Fund. Professor Li Xuelong, CTO and Chief Scientist of China Telecom Group and President of the China Telecom AI Research Institute (TeleAI), serves as scientific advisor, and Dr. Bai Chenjia serves as founder and CEO.
IT Home found that the China Telecom (Shanghai) AI Industry Private Equity Fund was jointly established with contributions from China Telecom together with the Shanghai State-Owned Capital Investment Pioneer Fund, the Central SOE Strategic Emerging Industries Development Fund, Shanghai Huizi under Xuhui District, and other institutions, forming a multi-tiered capital structure of "central SOEs + local state-owned capital + national-level strategic emerging industries funds".
Leveraging China Telecom's core strengths in communications, networks, computing power, data, and scenarios, as well as the innovation capabilities of TeleAI's new-generation communication network — the Intelligent Transmission Network (AI Flow),Gamma Intelligence will focus its R&D on the "self-evolution" and "whole-body model" of humanoid robots, striving to enable robots to continuously learn in real interactive applications, forming whole-body capabilities in which movement, balance, and manipulation work in synergy, while deeply collaborating with cloud-based models and various intelligent nodes to support robots in sharing experience and accomplishing tasks collaboratively.
