On October 23, Volcengine officially released Seedance2.54K. Through targeted training, this version learns facial expressions, subtle movements, and picture details more thoroughly, making it the strongest model of the Seedance2.5 generation.
The product supports Draft (sample) mode, allowing end users to first quickly validate storyboards and repeatedly polish shots with 480P samples, and generate the 4K final film only after confirming a satisfying result, leaving ample room for creative exploration at a better cost. This version is currently available only to selected enterprise customers for trial, and the scope of availability may gradually expand later.
Image quality and performance are the focus of this upgrade. A 10-bit color depth brings richer color layers and smooth gradient transitions, and together with more thorough presentation of textures, contours, and details, the picture quality is suited to the big screen. In drama-scene tests with film and television customers, the 4K version presents characters' subtle reactions more fully, making it easier for audiences to read emotions beyond the dialogue, and the performances have more layers. In reference generation and video editing, Seedance2.54K better preserves the image quality and clarity of uploaded materials; reference materials containing small text, such as posters and product packaging, are also clearer and more legible.
On the ecosystem side, the official team released the short film "Otter is Nobody2" made with Seedance2.54K, and published the complete prompts and reference materials for a 19-second, 16:9 landscape American retro chocolate commercial, demonstrating control over continuous narrative shots. Some domestic and overseas film production and post-production companies have already trialed the model, with released clips including the "Hualongji" PV and the "Yang Jian" PV.
The division of labor from 480P sample validation to 4K final delivery is transforming AI video models from mere footage-generation tools into a step that can enter film and television production workflows, and Seedance2.54K continues the trend of video generation models advancing deeper into professional content production.
