IT之家 reported on October 24 that AFP published a blog post on October 22, reporting that at a company meeting held in Berlin, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang once again attacked claims that "AI will destroy humanity,"calling them nonsense that is more of a "fabrication" and "cheap" hype manufactured to make headlines.
IT之家 translates Huang's remarks as follows:
When you hear that AI will end human civilization, do not believe it. These claims rely on "fabrication" and "cheap" hype to win "headlines," but they are far from the truth.
In an interview with The New York Times in September this year, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang also expressed the same view: the current panic over AI among the industry and the public has gone too far, and he believes that AI will not necessarily replace professions, but will replace tasks first.
Responding to the view of certain scientific experts that "AI will destroy humanity within 10 years," Huang said: "All of their predictions are wrong. The so-called 10% probability has neither scientific basis nor research support... These predictions only hurt people."
Huang called on the outside world to view AI with "responsible optimism," saying that if people care about humanity's future and sustainable development, now is the best time to "build artificial intelligence."
