ITHome October 24 news: Recently, users reported that new region option changes appeared on Anthropic's Claude upgrade payment page.
ITHome's hands-on testing found that Mainland China and the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan regions have appeared on the payment page, and the payment entry now supports binding Chinese UnionPay cards.
At the same time, users on social platforms and developer communities said that previously permanently banned Claude accounts can submit appeals, and some individual users have reported successful appeals. ITHome has not yet been able to verify this.
It is worth noting that the appearance of China region options on the Claude payment page does not mean that Anthropic has fully opened its services in the relevant regions. As of now, Anthropic's official help center still requires users to be located in its supported regions to use Claude.
Earlier this month, Anthropic also added Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese language options to the Claude web version.
Regarding account unblocking issues, Anthropic's official help center provides an appeal channel. Users who believe their accounts were wrongly deactivated can log in to the banned account and fill in an appeal form, and the security team will further investigate the reason for deactivation. The officially listed ban reasons include repeated violations of the usage policy, creating accounts from unsupported regions, and violating the terms of service.
