Apple has pushed the iOS 27.2 final version (build 24B119) to the iPhone 18 Pro and other models, while the foldable iPhone Duo receives an exclusive version (24B91020). In this routine update, Siri and AI-related changes take up the bulk.
Siri AI gains memory, and understands a few more languages
After the upgrade, Siri AI can remember previous conversations — for example, you don't need to restate your request to ask a follow-up about a restaurant it previously recommended. Apple has also broadened the information sources it can draw on: photos in Messages, calendar participants, voicemails, and Safari browsing and reading lists are all included in searches, with search results optimized. The accompanying "Excluded Apps" feature has been redesigned, making it faster to specify the apps that Siri, Search, and Suggestions cannot touch; replies also support copying only the text you need.
Language-wise, Siri AI adds support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. However, a word of caution: these capabilities require an iPhone 15 Pro or later, and they are currently unavailable in both the EU and mainland China.
AI content labeling, 160 vulnerabilities plugged
Another practical change comes to Apple Music — the red icon has been replaced with a new black-and-white look, and the navigation bar highlight color has also lost its red, echoing Apple's recent rebranding. Shared photo albums can now be renamed and commented on, and you'll be reminded to save important content before they expire.
Even more noteworthy is the SynthID watermark: images generated by Image Playground, as well as edits in Photos made via "Expand," "Reframe," and substantial "Clean Up" results, will carry an invisible identifier that users can verify with Google's SynthID Detector, helping people distinguish what was made by AI.
On the security front, iOS 27.2 fixes more than 160 vulnerabilities in one go. Apple says none of them were actively exploited, but given the considerable number, users are still advised to update to the latest version as soon as possible.
