IT之家 October 27 news: According to Bloomberg, driven by Anthropic PBC's filing of its IPO prospectus, investors' enthusiasm for AI trades has been reignited, and Asian semiconductor stocks surged in response.
In morning trading, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both rose more than 5%, sending South Korea's Kospi index up as much as 4.4%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose as much as 2.2%, with chip-related companies Advantest Corp. and Sumco Corp. both gaining more than 6%.
Anthropic, the developer of Claude, took another step toward going public — the most central piece of a series of positive news overnight, easing recent market concerns about financing conditions in the AI sector. Other noteworthy news included a $40 billion (IT Home note: approximately 267.35 billion yuan at current exchange rates) equipment financing lease project by SpaceX, and Meta Platforms' planned $95 billion (approximately 634.956 billion yuan at current exchange rates) share sale plan.
Hebe Chen, a market analyst at Vantage Global Prime, said: "Anthropic's landmark IPO filing, combined with Meta's major ramp-up in capital spending, has reignited overall market risk appetite. Money is no longer favoring defensive assets, and chip stocks are once again the main driver of the market."
