The job posting indicates that OpenAI is looking for engineers who can optimize the adaptation of the enterprise model on TPUs. Sources say that OpenAI plans to purchase Google TPU chips.
Google TPU played an important role in the early days of OpenAI’s founding. However, as the business grew, the generative AI service company gradually switched to NVIDIA’s computing power, and later purchased chips from AMD, Cerebras, AWS, and even developed its own Jalapeño chip.
