IT之家 October 28 news — According to reports from Yicai and Sina Auto, at today's SAECCE annual conference, XPENG Group Vice President Gu Jie stated thatthe solid-state battery for the XPENG IRON robot has been produced in small batches and rolled off the line, and the robot is currently in the stage before SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
Gu Jie said that XPENG has launched the first solid-state battery designed specifically for robots. Constrained by the robot's space requirements, the XPENG robot solid-state battery adopts a high energy density design, restructures the battery standard, and uses a design that prevents thermal runaway propagation, allowing it to withstand impacts, needle penetration, and other tests.
On September 8, the XPENG robot production line was officially put into operation, and the world's first high-level general-purpose humanoid robot completed automated final assembly and walked off the production line on its own to make its appearance, marking a key leap for XPENG robots from R&D and trial production to manufacturing on the production line,an important step toward scale mass production。
According to the plan, XPENG will achieve mass production of humanoid robots by the end of 2026and begin deliveries in the first half of 2027, first deploying them in commercial scenarios such as stores and shopping malls, and gradually expanding to industrial and home scenarios.
On August 24, XPENG's robot business completed a first funding round of over US$900 million (IT之家 note: approximately RMB 6.013 billion at the current exchange rate), with a post-investment valuation of over US$6.3 billion (approximately RMB 42.091 billion at the current exchange rate),setting a new record for a single round of private equity financing in China's embodied intelligence industry.。
