On October 28th, Tencent WorkBuddy officially launched the “Remote Control” feature, with the Tencent Edge One team providing technical support. The mobile app can connect to a computer with one click, allowing real-time viewing of the desktop screen and taking over operations.
The computer screen floats in a small window at the top of the App home page or session page, with the input field still available as usual. If a task goes wrong, it can be corrected. Click “Full Screen” to enter landscape mode, and tap anywhere on the screen to act at the same location on the computer. On the right side of the landscape interface, there are three tools: “Operation”, “Keyboard”, and “Mouse”. “Operation” allows horizontal tiling of the window, returning to the desktop, changing the quality, and ending remote control (requires double confirmation). “Keyboard” supports mobile input methods, computer keyboards, and common shortcuts. “Mouse” provides accurate virtual positioning, with left and right buttons and scrolling functions consistent with those on a computer.
In the scenario, after logging into accounts such as public accounts on WeChat Official Accounts and Red Book on a computer browser, the Agent can scrape data from the backend to complete weekly reports without being blocked by permission prompts; when the connector authorization expires or new skills need to be temporarily installed, a remote connection allows installation and activation on the computer; PPTs, web pages, and posters generated by the Agent can be viewed in widescreen mode to check the layout and animation effects, and can be modified immediately.
The mobile app must be updated to v2.7.0 or higher, and the macOS desktop version must be updated to v5.9.3 or higher. First, enable “Allow remote connection from devices with the same account” on the computer, install the remote control component, and grant permissions for “Screen Recording and System Recording” and “Assistive Functions”, then activate remote control; thereafter, when the computer is turned on and WorkBuddy is online, select “Remote Control” from the menu in the top-right corner of the app for direct connection. In terms of security, a computer allows only one authenticated mobile device to connect at a time. The screen operations use an encrypted channel, no user input is recorded, and remote control screens are not saved. It only consumes data traffic, and no Tokens are used.
