IT之家 October 28 news: chip IP and design services firm Faraday Technology announced yesterday in its 2026Q3 earnings report that it has secured a major design win from a US customer,with the design process, design complexity, NRE amount, and advanced packaging all setting company records。
IT之家 has learned that this is a cloud-oriented AI chip that also supports FP64 computing (which should also cover HPC tasks). It is based on Samsung Foundry's advanced 2nm process,vertically stacking the logic SoC with custom DRAM, applying hybrid bonding technology, and supports PCIe Gen6. Faraday noted that the customer originally planned to use a 4nm process but chose this option after considering performance and power consumption.
Faraday Technology's 2026Q3 consolidated revenue was NT$36.6 亿 (IT Home note: equivalent to approximately RMB 7.5 亿 at the current exchange rate), up 13% year-over-year and up 11% quarter-over-quarter; gross margin was 42.5% and operating margin was 5.8%.
