Today, Baidu officially announced the upgrade of Baidu AI Search and the Search AI API, further expanding the application scenarios of AI search and lowering developers' call costs. This upgrade focuses on the API service and four major AI features of the Baidu App.
In terms of pricing, the newly upgraded Search AI API offers a promotional price during the event period, as low as 4.9 yuan per thousand calls, aiming to reduce the cost for enterprises and developers to access AI search capabilities.
The Baidu App has been upgraded around the Wenxin Assistant, AI Lens, GUI interactive scenarios, and AI interactive applications. Among them, the Wenxin Assistant has shifted from the traditional "one question, one answer" to "one delivery," covering more than 170 application scenarios; AI Lens adds a dynamic tracking feature and supports real-time conversations in 9 dialects; GUI interactive scenarios have grown 5 times in scale, integrating more than 5 billion data resources; and for AI interactive applications, AI interactive dramas and related applications have been launched, further enriching the content experience.
This upgrade shows that Baidu is pushing AI search to extend from an information retrieval and question-answering tool toward comprehensive service forms such as task delivery, real-time interaction, and content consumption. Meanwhile, expanding developer access through API price discounts is expected to further promote the adoption of AI search capabilities in enterprise applications and third-party products.
