ITHome November 3 news: Toyota-affiliated automotive components supplier Aisin announced locally yesterday that, in cooperation with Tohoku University in Japan, it has successfully developedthe world's first STT-MRAM-integrated(ITHome note: Spin-Transfer Torque Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory)16nm process AI SoC。
The chipadopts a near-memory computing (NMC) design concept, directly integrating 32MB of embedded MRAM, which can locally store AI model weights and OS boot data, eliminating the need to access external DRAM cache or SSD storage at boot.
Through an 8/16-bit hybrid multiplication architecture and weight sharing technology, the SoC uses Tiny YOLOv3 to perform object detection within the limited on-chip STT-MRAM capacity。
Its time from power-on to OS boot has been shortened to 65.7ms, a 38.59x speed improvement; AI processing speed is 10.16x faster; overall operating speed is 25.2x faster. The energy required for object detection is only 50.7mJ per frame, just 1/50 that of traditional solutions.。
