IT之家 October 14 news: On October 12 local time, AMD CEO Lisa Su delivered a keynote speech at the 2026 Open Compute Project Global Summit, expressing optimism about the future growth prospects of the CPU market.
Lisa Su expects the data center AI accelerator market to approach 1.5 trillion USD by 2030 (IT Home note: approximately 10.06 trillion RMB at current exchange rates), and the room for growth in the CPU business may be even greater. Just one year ago, the overall CPU market was worth only about 20 billion USD (approximately 1,341.01 亿元 RMB at current exchange rates), with the industry expecting annual growth of only single digits.
With the rise of agentic AI, Lisa Su believes CPU demand will see a new round of growth. “Over the past 9 months, we have raised our CPU market size expectations three times, because overall demand is growing so fast. We believe the compound annual growth rate over the next 4 to 5 years willreach about 50%, and by 2030, the potential market size willexceed 200 billion USD(approximately 1.34 trillion RMB at current exchange rates).”
Lisa Su also called 2026 the “real year of inference”, predicting that AI inference will account for about 60% of the market share going forward. “We believe that starting this year, inference will account for about 60% of the market share. Not only that, agentic workloads areexperiencing explosive growth。”
On product delivery, Lisa Su revealed that AMD began shipping Helios mass-production systems in September, with the first units deployed in the data centers of major customers such as OpenAI, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, and Anthropic. “From Q4 through the first half of next year, we will continue to expand production.”
