IT之家 October 15 news: According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that artificial intelligence model company Anthropic PBC told potential investors that its third-quarter revenue reached 16.8 billion US dollars (IT之家 note: approximately 112.644 billion yuan at the current exchange rate), as the company continues to push forward with its listing plans.

People familiar with the matter said that Anthropic, the developer of Claude, held a pitch event at its San Francisco headquarters on local Wednesday, telling investors that the company achieved adjusted profitability in the quarter.
According to people familiar with the matter, as of the third quarter, Anthropic had achieved positive free cash flow, with an adjusted gross margin of 85% and an adjusted operating margin of over 11%.
Anthropic expects to officially launch the roadshow for its initial public offering as early as the week of November 9, with trading expected to begin before Thanksgiving and the listing expected to be completed within the year.
People familiar with the matter said the relevant discussions are still ongoing and the timing could still change.
Anthropic has had strong momentum for most of this year, but it now faces renewed competitive pressure from companies such as OpenAI, with the two evenly matched in the race for higher valuations. Following a series of major hacking incidents caused by malicious agents, both companies are under increasingly strict public scrutiny of AI safety, and there is growing concern about the potential impact this could have on Anthropic's initial public offering.
Meta recently launched an artificial intelligence model, claiming it represents a major breakthrough compared with its own previous-generation product, making it yet another competitor for investors to watch. Meta said that Muse Wonder's capabilities in code writing and handling financial or legal questions are already on par with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude.
Investors' reaction to Anthropic's latest business figures will play a key role in the listing process. Some investors said before Wednesday's meeting that the company's reasonable valuation range is roughly 1.8 trillion to 2 trillion US dollars (approximately 12.07 trillion to 13.41 trillion yuan at the current exchange rate). Bloomberg reported that Anthropic hopes this offering can reach or even exceed SpaceX's initial public offering in size.
Bloomberg reported in August that Anthropic had a net loss of nearly 42 billion US dollars (approximately 281.611 billion yuan at the current exchange rate) in 2025, about a fourfold increase from the previous year's loss of about 8.3 billion US dollars (approximately 55.652 billion yuan). Documents reviewed by Bloomberg show that the company's full-year 2025 revenue was about 4.6 billion US dollars (approximately 30.843 billion yuan), a substantial increase from the previous year's 386 million US dollars (approximately 2.588 billion yuan), but its operating loss expanded to more than 8 billion US dollars (approximately 53.64 billion yuan).
Anthropic's insistence on pushing forward with its listing contrasts with a global new-share market that has seen a string of postponements and shelvings. Data center operator AirTrunk postponed the Singapore initial public offering of its real estate investment trust to next year; just days before that news, the listing plan of Australian data center company Firmus fell through.
