IT之家 News on October 15: as AI agents such as Claude and Muse become increasingly widespread, AI going out of control is no longer news these days, and blaming AI when something goes wrong seems to have become a trend.
The Swedish reality competition show The Challenge Sverige has recently been caught up in just such a storm.
On the 14th local time, Sweden's Aftonbladet revealed an almost unbelievable incident: an AI agent allegedly deleted the entire upcoming season of The Challenge Sverige, when only a few weeks remained until its premiere.
The newspaper learned thatthe deleted editing files could not be recovered, and production company Mastiff had no choice but to arrange for the team to recut the entire season from scratch.

According to sources, after Mastiff granted the agent access to its servers, the entire season was deleted. A year's worth of work went down the drain, and hundreds of staff members had to restart production.
The new season was originally scheduled to premiere on November 22. TV4, the broadcaster responsible for airing the show, confirmed thatthe program has been postponed to next year due to a "technical glitch", but the station said it had no knowledge of whether the files were deleted by an AI agent.
After the report was published, TV4's head of programs Mia Lindqvist tried to shift some of the blame away from the AI, saying the incident was not the result of the AI agent acting on its own. In her response, she explained: "Most production companies nowadays use AI in their work, but that is an entirely different matter. The real problem was thatthe backup system failed, forcing the entire season to be recut from scratch. All the original footage is still there, so the material itself is fine; it will just inevitably cause delays."
According to IT之家's understanding, Mia ultimately attributed the incident to "human factors" rather than AI. However, her explanationdid not completely rule out the possibility of AI involvement in the incident。
When Aftonbladet told the show's host Ahmed Berhan the news, he did not seem too shaken. Upon hearing it, Berhan said with a laugh: "Seriously?! I always knew AI would be the death of me sooner or later, and this is just the beginning."
