The American artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced the establishment of a brand-new office in Singapore and has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore Ministry of Digital Development and Information, marking a further deepening of its presence in the Southeast Asian market.
As one of Anthropic's most active markets globally, Singapore has millions of users, and many local enterprises and government agencies are already using the Claude family of models in their daily operations. According to Anthropic's latest Economic Index, Singapore ranks second out of 121 countries and regions in actual Claude.ai usage measured by population size, with its per capita actual usage level nearly 6 times the population-scaled expected value.
Under this partnership framework, Anthropic will collaborate with a number of core institutions, including the Government Technology Agency of Singapore, Grab, and DBS Bank. As its local team continues to grow, Anthropic plans to use its advanced artificial intelligence technology to help these local institutions maintain a leading technological position in their respective industries.
In addition, the cooperation between the two parties will not be limited to the level of technology application, but will also focus on evaluating AI safety, cybersecurity, and large model safety, jointly promoting the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence technology by government agencies and the private sector.
