IT Home reported on October 16 that the DeepSeek web page / API service experienced a problem early on October 15. After nearly 5 hours of repair, it returned to normal. In response, the DeepSeek official open platform announced compensation for all API users’ usage amounts within 7 days.
Tencent WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy have released a compensation notice today for users who were affected by using the DeepSeek model on the domestic versions of WorkBuddy or CodeBuddy. The points used by these users to access the DeepSeek model between October 8 and 14 will be fully refunded, and the refund will be credited within 7 working days.
Meanwhile, considering the impact of this incident on the user experience, WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy have announced an additional 500 points for all domestic users. These points can be manually received by entering the “Usage Management” page before 24:00 on October 22, and the points are valid for one month.

IT Home noticed that this is the largest service issue encountered by DeepSeek this month. On the morning of October 15, netizens saw the dialogue prompt on DeepSeek saying “the server is temporarily unavailable”; WorkBuddy also indicated “DeepSeek is in a factory malfunction”, suggesting switching to another model.
