IT Home On October 18, it was reported that Agility Robotics’ next-generation humanoid robot is designed to allow more time during the day for carrying goods and reduce the need for power charging.

According to IT Home, the company has chosen Nyobolt battery technology for the Digit 5 humanoid robot, with the goal of enabling it to work effectively for over 20 hours within 24 hours.
This new battery system allows the device to operate for 90 minutes after being charged in just 9 minutes. The robot equipped with this battery is expected to begin early trials in the first half of 2027, targeting manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics companies.
This battery upgrade has solved a major practical problem for commercial humanoid robots: it ensures the robot can operate for a sufficient period of time to make deployment valuable from a commercial perspective, while minimizing interruptions caused by charging.
The working time to charging time ratio of the Digit 5 battery system is designed to be 10:1; while the previous generation Digit 4 had it at only 2:1. In other words, the new robot can work for 10 minutes after charging for 1 minute.
Agility says this improvement will enable robots to complete more than two full shifts per day, helping customers increase the utilization rate of their robot fleet.
Agility Chief Business Officer Daniel Diez said: “For our customers, Digit’s continuous ability to operate is the business value itself.”
He added, “Digit 5 can achieve more than 20 hours of effective operation within 24 hours, which is equivalent to over two full work shifts. This improvement will truly enhance the benefits that customers obtain from using Digit, and change the economic viability of deploying humanoid robot fleets.”
“Nyobolt’s ultra-fast charging technology helped us achieve this goal, and it is also a key factor that enabled Digit 5 to move towards large-scale implementation,” Dies said.
Nyobolt’s high-power battery technology combines rapid charging and long cycle life, while reducing the weight of the entire system. For the Digit 5, the goal is to achieve higher power output using a smaller and lighter battery pack, and to meet the strict requirements of industrial applications.
Sai Shivareddy, co-founder and CEO of Nyobolt, said: “We chose Nyobolt technology because Digit 5 needs more power in a smaller, lighter battery pack, and in such scenarios, reliability cannot be compromised.”
“Agility has set extremely high tolerance standards for batteries in real warehouse and factory environments. This collaboration proves: when ultra-fast charging batteries are engineered to meet the most rigorous conditions of physical AI, what level of performance can be achieved.”
Both companies believe that reducing the charging time per session can extend the overall operating window and enable handling of more intensive continuous tasks. This announcement does not reveal the battery capacity, nor does it provide specific cycle life values.
Agility recently launched Digit 5, the company’s first humanoid robot designed for large-scale human-machine collaborative safe operations, which can operate in environments close to humans.
After the early trial launch in the first half of 2027, the product supply is expected to gradually increase over the next 6 to 9 months.
Agility is still advancing its listing plan and will merge with Churchill Capital Corp XI. The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The merged company will continue to use the name Agility Robotics and will be listed on NASDAQ under the stock code AGLT.
For customers, this product implementation plan is the next step for the battery performance of Digit 5 to be officially put into commercial operation.
