IT Home On October 18, DeepSeek announced that the DeepSeek API now supports web search and scraping. It is charged based on the number of requests, with a price of 5 yuan for every 1000 successful requests.
The announcement states that when current users use the DeepSeek API in DeepSeek Harness / Claude Code / Codex, they have already accessed the Search / Fetch interfaces through the Server-side tools. These Search / Fetch interface calls are currently not charged, but starting at 00:00 on November 1, 2026, Beijing Time, a call fee will be applied per invocation.
According to previous reports by IT Home, DeepSeek officially announced on October 17 that the Search / Fetch API had been launched. Both interfaces use DeepSeek’s self-developed search engine to provide real-time web content for Agent and RAG applications.
The Search interface searches web pages by query and returns structured results, while the Fetch interface extracts a single web page and returns titles and text content in Markdown format. Both are raw JSON APIs, with a Base URL of api.deepseek.com, using the same Bearer authentication as the DeepSeek API.
