Published onAI News · 1 min read · Oct 19, 20262DeepSeek recently officially released an announcement, declaring that its API now fully supports web search and fetch capabilities, and clarified the specific commercial billing standard. According to the announcement, this feature will adopt a per-request billing model, with the unit price set at 5 yuan per 1000 successful requests.
Regarding application scenarios and the transition milestone, users currently calling the DeepSeek API in development tools and environments such as DeepSeek Harness, Claude Code and Codex can already directly access the Search and Fetch interfaces through Server-side tools.
Calls to these interfaces will be temporarily free of charge during the transition period, and will formally incur per-call fees starting from 00:00 on November 1 of the same year. This move marks that, while improving real-time information acquisition capabilities, large AI models are accelerating the large-scale and standardized commercial deployment of underlying tool-calling services, which has a positive industry demonstration effect for optimizing the agent development ecosystem.
