IT之家 October 19 news: A group of American users who had been using agents such as Meta's Muse found that autonomous AI has recently been banned by multiple financial platforms. Charles Schwab (IT之家 note: Charles Schwab) CEO Rick Wurster said in a Bloomberg interview last week thatthey block multiple AI agents every weekand regularly receive reports on the matter.

However, Charles Schwab has not completely blocked external AI agents. External models can query account balances and research materials through a dedicated MCP server, but cannot perform operations such as fund transfers. The CEO said the reason for blocking external agents is that accountability is unclear — neither the bank nor customers can control these third-party agents.Once a problem occurs,,there is no clear answer as to who bears responsibility.。
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon also mentioned in the earnings call thatthey do not allow any third-party agents to freely access their systems. A JPMorgan spokesperson later added that any agent attempting to log in with bank login credentials would be rejected. Bank of America has adopted a similar policy, prohibiting agents from performing operations such as transferring funds.
Beyond that, a growing number of companies are trying to draw a line with agents. Delta Air Lines no longer allows users to book flights with agents, and Yelp only grants access to paid agent service providers. As early as this September (month 9), Amazon accused Muse of violating its site rules. According to user feedback, xAI's Grok and OpenAI's newly launched resident agent Dots also fail to work properly on Amazon.
