IT Home On October 19, the State Council Information Office held a press conference today to introduce efforts to accelerate technology-driven business development and answer reporters' questions.
It was introduced at the meeting that embodied intelligence is the key medium for artificial intelligence to move from the “digital world” into the “physical world”, and it is becoming an important tool for fostering new productive forces. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is promoting the embodied intelligence industry, represented by humanoid robots, to achieve three “accelerations”.
One is the accelerated growth in scale and volume. In the first half of this year, China’s humanoid robot complete products exceeded 400 models, with a production volume of over 40,000 units, and it is expected to exceed 100,000 units throughout the year.
Secondly, innovation capabilities are accelerating in leaps. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pools the strengths of industry, academia, and research, focusing on key technologies such as humanoid robots and embodied intelligent motion control, simulation, and tactile sensing. This drives continuous improvements in product performance.
Thirdly, industrial applications are being accelerated. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched a special initiative for humanoid robots and embodied intelligence real-scene training, promoting the verification and deployment of related products in over 300 key scenarios such as warehousing and logistics, catering and retail, and home services. The overall operational capabilities and scenario adaptation abilities of the entire systems are continuously improving.
IT Home noticed that the IDC report shows that while the market is growing rapidly, there are also positive changes in both supply and demand for humanoid robot industries: on one hand, applications in industry and logistics continue to accelerate, and leading manufacturers are expanding their production capacity; on the other hand, small humanoid robots targeting individual consumers have begun to appear in the Chinese market, and the home and personal markets are gradually becoming new potential growth areas.
In addition, embodied AI large models are rapidly evolving. Robots' ability to understand complex environments, make decisions, and perform tasks continues to improve, providing technical support for expanding application scenarios for humanoid robots.
